Decorating your home for the holidays is part of what makes the season so special. However, with the crazy rush the season brings, having the time to deck the halls isn’t always easy. Luckily, decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to be stressful or difficult to be festively beautiful. Add some holiday cheer to your home with these easy holiday décor tips.
Tie it With a Bow
Festive holiday pillows are always an effortless way to liven up your living space for any season. If you don’t want to spend money on a store-bought pillow, use one you already have and spruce it up! Grab some elegant ribbon and wrap your pillows up in big holiday bow to create a pillow that looks like a gift under tree. You can always add some jingle bells or a hangtag for an added accent.
The winter season is filled with natural elements that are great for easy holiday décor. Bring natural elements such as pinecones and pine branches inside and decorate how you please. Spread them across the middle of your dining room table for a centerpiece display or decorate your fireplace mantle for a rustic, natural look. If you’re looking for a more elegant style, brush some glitter paint on some pinecones and place them in a glass jar for a simply stunning display. You can also add in other holiday items like cinnamon sticks, holly berries or dried orange slices for some added color and holiday scents.
Dress up your Windows
Windows often go forgotten in the decorating process but there are plenty of ways to dress them up. Use the curtain rod or tie a simple string across a window like a clothesline and decorate away. Hang candy canes and pinecones, showcase old holiday cards or simply drape over some beaded garland. If you’re wanting to bring some snow to your home, hang some old-fashioned paper snowflakes or draw on your own using washable window markers.
Cookie Cutter Ornaments
Rather than using your cookies cutters for holiday baking, consider putting them on the tree instead. Trace the cookie cutters onto a patterned paper and then cut them out. Line the paper cutout with a small amount of glue and place it onto the back of the cookie cutter. Let dry, cut off any excess paper and attach a loop of cord to the back to create and ornament just as sweet as the cookies you eat.
Upcycle an Old Frame
An old frame can easily be transformed into a beautiful holiday display. Remove the glass and backing from the frame, spray paint it with even coats of paint and let it dry completely. Once dry, cut the ribbon and tie one end to the ornament and attach the other end to the back of the frame so that the ornament hangs. Add as many additional ornaments or hot glue on a festive bow to the front of the frame for some festive details.
It is not the decorations that make the home, but the people and memories shared within it. With these tips, you can spend less time decorating and more time spending time making memories in your festively decorated Spring House at Honey Farms townhome.
