Honey Farms, one of Columbia’s largest residential developments, hosted its grand opening last weekend, featuring its craftsman-style homes and modern lifestyle amenities.
The grand opening featured food by the award-winning Delta Bound food truck. Guests received a sneak-peek into Maury County’s newest residential community, which has been in development since February.
The neighborhood sits on 50 acres just off Nashville Highway at 2260 Honey Farm Way, and will have an estimated 264 units when completed over the next three years.
Aimed to be more than a modern dwelling community, Honey Farms boasts its allure as a combination of being located a few miles from Saturn Parkway, nearby shopping areas in Spring Hill and Columbia and a $2 million amenities center which includes a 24/7 fitness center, walking trail, pool and tennis courts.
The neighborhood is also nestled between the Southern countryside, which at one time was a local honey farm and stand dating back to the 1920s.
Developer SpringHouse owner Bud Brenner, who has designed and built more than 4,000 townhomes in 26 years, said he wanted to offer home buyers a stress-free and “resort-style” lifestyle at Honey Farms. This includes things like complimentary yard and structural maintenance, custom exteriors, sound-proof walls and energy efficient appliances.
“We spent a lot of time with the architect designing it so it would feel open, and you’ll notice there’s no echoes either, because it’s sound proof,” Brenner said. “We’re proud of them in that they’re unique … and they’re affordable.”
Potential buyers can choose from six different two and three-bedroom floor plans, ranging roughly between $200,000-$250,000 each. Each floor plan comes with designer lighting, granite counter tops, hardwood flooring and energy efficient construction to ensure low-maintenance living. Details of each plan, with pictures, price ranges and extra features can be found at www.honeyfarmsliving.com.
Each home also comes with a complimentary 10-year structure warranty and five-year warranty for heating and air. There is also financial advising available.
In an area like north Columbia, which is expected to see tremendous growth in both residential and commercial developments over the next few years, now is the time for people looking to purchase an affordable, high-end home to get in at the start, sales manager Brian Nelson said.
“For so many people who buy a house, it’s one of the biggest investments they make and are going to spend a lot of time at. So people are going to enjoy the higher-end features,” Nelson said. “The growth is just starting, so you’re going to get in on the ground floor here.”
Custom colors and materials are included with each purchase, which Nelson added will be a big draw for customers hoping to give a little more unique personality to their homes.
“We’re definitely a lot different than the other communities being built around here,” Nelson said. “Our main concept about what makes us so different out here is the higher-end features that are included. When you go to any of the other builders, a lot of the times you come in at one price, and then when you get everything you want it ends up being a whole different story. Here, everything is included.”
